Analogue Blog: Going Pro
For some reason Kodak Pro-Image hadn't appeared in my fridge until recently. I tend to buy a variety of films in any one order and the prospect of having to buy a pack probably put me off. Needing two colour films to hand out to people, a pack of Kodak Pro-Image 100 was on offer, so I ordered. Processing them myself in a Kodak C41 kit, the results were rather pleasing, for me anyway. Scanning wasn't so straightforward and with no scanner preset for this particular film stock, one or two scans didn't look right at first. Soon enough though I had most looking as I thought they should and comparable to others I had seen. This is actually a lovely film stock capable of producing natural colours, especially in landscapes.
Kodak Retina iic Over the period from late August through to mid September, we have seen some really quite dramatic skies. There haven't always been as many opportunities to get out and photograph them as I would like, but the Pro-Image has performed well when the opportunities have arisen. A couple of rolls have gone by now and it seems to have come good whether in a late 80s Canon EOS 5 or the lovely late 50s Kodak Retina iic.
Maybe try some, don't think you'll be disappointed at the price and results.
