Sulby Claddagh https://www.quellinimages.com/blog/2021/4/sulby-claddagh I just wanted to try the new Canon L series mk iii 16-35mm zoom.  I tried a few odd shots of the low morning sun catching some of the early spring growth in the trees.  I wanted to do these in monochrome as the light was really the key consideration.  All the shots are in a monochrome set here:  Sulby morning trees

Cloudy Monday Evening https://www.quellinimages.com/blog/2021/3/cloudy-monday-evening Cooildarry Mill 29 Mar 21Cooildarry Mill 29 Mar 21

Lots of scudding low cloud today. Didn't expect much from an evening walk down to Cooildarry Nature Reserve.  Just the old, but trusty Canon 5DMkii for company, no tripod. The monochrome is an old Fuller's Earth mill from the 19th Century.  Only brief moments of hazy sun and it doesn't reach into the valley much.  Net result: verdant greens, but everything else looking a little flat. I played around with effects when I got back. The walk in the reserve was thoroughly enjoyable despite the decidedly flat images.

Coastal and Glen images https://www.quellinimages.com/blog/2021/3/coastal-and-glen-images With improving weather there was a brief opportunity to get out one evening into a Glen (daily lock down exercise) on the west coast of the Isle Of Man and then down to the beach at the end of the same glen the next evening.  Plenty of water in the river so the waterfall was in fairly good flow. An image of Spoyt Vane waterfall is now in the landscapes gallery.  The beach at the end of Glen Mooar is not the most picturesque, but there was a pleasant sunset.

Isle Of Man winter weather https://www.quellinimages.com/blog/2021/2/isle-of-man-winter-weather So much rain recently.  The Ayres National Nature Reserve is collecting a lot of water.  If we can get some sunlight on it for long enough there ought to be some nice photo opportunities.  That did occur briefly the other morning.  I have added a picture to the landscapes gallery.  It looks like a trout pond in in early Spring... its actually normally a parking area. Welcome to the parking area

For the one in the gallery, I decided it might be better with ripples in it, so I have to confess to carefully launching a small stone (there are no fish in there... not yet anyway).
